Have you ever been an eyewitness of a car crash? I guess I was lucky enough to see this accident this morning.
I went to ESL class by car this morning. I turned on the radio and listened to today’s traffic condition. It seemed the traffic was a little bit slow but not sluggish. I was just happy about not being late for the class. Suddenly, I heard a big bump from the left side of my car: it was a four-car collision that happened right next to my lane. Their car windows came to pieces and flew on my car’s windshield and roof. I was shocked because this accident was so close to me. I could have been a victim and might have gotten injured. In spite of this incident, I kept my speed and moved forward. I think if I stopped or reduced the speed at that time, the cars behind me would have hit me.
Few seconds after the accident, I tried to stay calm and alert while I was driving. I drove at under 65 mph and watched out for every car behind me. I think this accident was not caused because of the slow traffic, but somebody (the fourth and last car of the pile-up) didn’t keep enough distance, was driving too fast, and was not aware of the traffic condition. I hope no one got hurt from this tragedy and the person who caused this accident has learned the lesson.
